Only a Hand Shake !!

Another successful day in the gym, again we added a few more exercises to the warm up and a few new warm down exercises at the end of the session.

The wall slide/press isn’t getting any easier and I can’t get my left arm anywhere near the wall but its early days yet.  Working on the 1-10 pain gauge it takes me into the 7-8 mark to complete the 10 reps.

It was now time to group 4 exercises together before a rest.  It went very well and we got through the exercises very quickly.  I did the first set with weight and this was going to be my first time through for a second time but with no weight.  Set 2 was very good but my shoulder was starting to feel the pressure.

The warm down exercises went well and coach took me through some exercises that we would be doing the following day.  The resistance bands are now coming into play which is a good thing and tend to make you work just that bit harder and you don’t realise it.

My shoulder was feeling good but I knew if I didn’t ice it straight away I would be suffering further down the line.  Some 20 minutes later and all iced up my work out for the day was over.

It doesn’t sound like we are doing very much and at times I don’t feel as if I have done very much but I think that’s the nature of rehab.  One of the exercises that we did was taking the hand of your colleague in a hand shake style grip and then trying to push against each other in a sideways motion.  It very quickly came apparent that I had no power or strength in my shoulder and I went straight past the safe pain level of 6.

I got better as we went on and that’s how I hope tomorrow will go.
